CARATS & CARROTS.....food for thought! From the Bench.... AHHHH......AUTUMN IN JUST AROUND THE CORNER! It's been a busy summer at Vogan's! The word is out that we are THE jewelers to see for getting the difficult repairs accomplished! Did you know that we have had other jewelers recommend us to their customers when they are unable to do what is asked? That type of recommendation is not taken lightly by us. So, what constitutes a "difficult" repair? For example, we have seen many rings that have been purchased during a cruise come to us because they are unable to be sized down or up due to the way stones are set in them. Let me be clear here....it isn't because the ring itself is defective or of a lower quality. It is important for the consumer to realize that if stones are bead set (set down into the metal itself) along the sides or top of a ring; that can create serious problems once the ring is sized up or down. Stones can become loose or even fall out if the original shape is changed due to sizing. Quite often, we can do the sizing but it requires thinking "outside the box" so to speak! We have developed a unique type of sizing technique that keeps the original angle of the ring the same on top so that the stones stay tight and well-seated. Of course, we also do the simple repairs too, and many of those are done while you wait. This year, we are celebrating ten years in the same location here in the Bon Shopping Center! We started out with 50 customers back then and today we're nearing almost 10,000 served! For a little mom and pop business, that makes us proud! For those of you that have not been in to our shop, let us tell you some of the unique features about us. **All work is done ON SITE and IN SIGHT. What that means for you is that we do not send our work out to a third party, but instead do the repairs, custom, restoration, engraving, watch repair, stringing, stone setting, and more right on the premises. Most of our work is done within two weeks but custom can take longer in some cases. We do have an Express Service for those customers needing a fast turnaround. Please ask for details when you come in. And yes, we do make exceptions for those romantics that need an engagement ring done "NOW Please!!" :-) **Everyone working behind the counter does the actual work for you rather than just acts as a salesperson. We feel that this is an important feature to our business. Actually working on the jewelry enables our staff to give you the most quality service possible when determining what repairs need to be done. **Besides repairs and custom, we also offer our Bridal Service. Wanting a unique engagement ring? Let us know what you're looking for and we'll design you the perfect ring! Want to use family stones in your new ring?
